Interface with other pillars to understand goals

Develop a “map” and a communications template 

Design a demonstration project that can serve as a “proof of concept” model of creative collaboration and seek a planning grant to design the system of communications and work plan to identify all needs including a phased budget to implement steps

Create a method for fostering the open communications and cooperative planning needed for effective collaborative practice

Early Sketch

  • Climate as the “envelope” for urban innovation, public health, education, community, and economic revitalization programs
  • Framing story should inspire and guide internal project planning as well as outreach to external expertise, partners, and groups
  • Map key city goals related to the climate  mobilization legislation to see where coordination could be an asset 
  • Near term – diversity of programs, internal & external stakeholders requires an agreed upon basic communications plan – longer term cultivation of a shared culture that supports the achievement of goals  

Strategic Plan – future activities 

  • Plan a demonstration project with a vision that can move participants beyond the status quo
  • Create  a compelling vision with a communication and collaboration plan – that can also serve as an research opportunity to chart barriers and craft ways to overcome them to accomplish goals  
  • Secure Planning Grants
  • As project shows results create a communications system for “observers” to accelerate broader engagement 
  • Develop other projects using this basic approach with the goal of cultivating a shared culture of knowledge building, cooperation, and cross sector relationship development for impactful outcomes
