Dr. Aliasghar Arab, CREST Research Associate, Presents at International Conferences on Autonomous Systems and AI Reliability
Dr. Aliasghar Arab, Research Associate at the CUNY CREST Institute, actively engaged with the international research community during May 2026, presenting his work on autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and system reliability at two major conferences.
From May 11-14, Dr. Arab participated in the Emerging Technology Reliability Round Table in Europe, where he delivered a presentation titled High-Resolution Risk Assessment for Edge-Case Autonomy: A Generative AI Approach. His presentation highlighted innovative applications of generative AI for assessing and managing risks associated with rare and challenging scenarios in autonomous systems.
Later in the month, Dr. Arab traveled to Zagreb, Croatia, to participate in the 2026 IEEE Engineering Reliable Autonomous Systems (ERAS) Conference, held from May 28 to 29. At the conference, he presented his paper, IEEE Guide for Verification of Autonomous Systems: An Introduction to IEEE P2817, which introduced emerging standards and methodologies for the verification and validation of autonomous technologies.
Through these presentations, Dr. Arab contributed to ongoing international efforts to advance the reliability, safety, and trustworthiness of next-generation autonomous systems, while showcasing the program’s growing research activities in artificial intelligence and autonomous technologies.
