CUNY CREST’s research spans the full spectrum of remote sensing science from sensor development and satellite-based observations to in-situ field measurements, data analysis, modeling, and forecasting. Our multidisciplinary efforts address critical topics such as climate change impacts and adaptation, weather and water systems, energy, environmental justice, agriculture, coastal zone resilience, and air quality. Position CUNY CREST as the premier research center in NYC for issues related to climate resiliency, coastal hazards and other urban and global environmental challenges and partner with national and international networks who are addressing similar urban and global environmental issues. 

 



Goals:

  • Cultivate a research environment within CUNY CREST that promotes integrated interdisciplinary research to address local, national, and international environmental challenges
  • Establish a rigorous externally funded portfolio for collaborative inter- and transdisciplinary research 
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities around common themes for greater impact and visibility at local, national and international levels
  • Develop innovative products and solutions that address key stakeholder needs
