In Memorial of Dr. Barry Gross
The year ended with a sad news for City College, Grove School of Engineering and CUNY-CREST Institute. We mourned the loss of Dr. Barry Gross, who unfortunately passed away in late December. Barry Gross, a two-time alumnus of the Department of Electrical Engineering, earned his master’s in 1988 and his PhD in 1992 here at CCNY. He then rejoined this community in 1993 as an electrical engineer faculty. He spent his tenure dedicating an unwavering devotion to the College, his students, and his research and scholarship. Dr. Gross showed his determination and tenacity through his significant contributions to the Electrical Engineering department, Earth and Environmental Engineering Program, at CCNY and an active member of the CUNY CREST Institute and NOAA Cooperative Science Center. He was a great colleague, dedicated professor, a friend and a brother to many of us, and will be greatly missed. A memorial service was held on Friday, December 30th, 2022 at the Grove School of Engineering to mourn his passing and celebrate his life.
