CREST participates in the 2025 HSTAT’s Career, Internship, and Transition Services Spring Fair, 2025 Pre-College Engineering Day by Latin American Engineering Student Association Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineerings, Brooklyn Transition and College Access Center (TCAC) Fair, and Career Day at Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS).
Trip to the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at the Columbia Climate School
CUNY CREST HIRES Director, Dr. Shakila Merchant and CREST Research Scientist, Dr. Vartika Saman visited the Lamont- Dohert Earth Observatory at the Columbia Climate School in New York on February 19, 2025.
During the visit, the CREST team met with Steven L. Goldstein, Interim Director, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO), Dr. Alex de Sherbinin, Director, The Center for Integrated Earth System Information (CIESIN) at Columbia Climate School, and Dr. Michael J. Passow, Adjunct Associate Research Scientist, LDEO to explore potential collaborations. The discussion focused on training students with limited access to high-quality Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, jointly pursuing grant writing and funding opportunities, creating internship programs, and conducting research on global environmental change.
