CREST Hosts External Advisory Board Meeting at CCNY
CREST hosted its External Advisory Board (EAB) Meeting on December 4, 2025, at the Grove School of Engineering, City College of New York (CCNY). The meeting brought together distinguished board members whose strategic guidance and collaborative engagement have been instrumental in shaping CREST’s ongoing mission and initiatives.
During the meeting, CREST shared updates on its expanding research, training, and science portfolio, highlighting its growing contributions to CCNY, the broader CUNY community, and global partnerships. A special focus was placed on the newly established United Nations University Hub on Remote Sensing and Sustainable Innovations for Resilient Urban Systems (R-SIRUS) at CCNY, the first of its kind in the United States.
Board members reviewed and provided input on the draft 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, which outlines CREST’s priorities to:
- Expand research and application capabilities
- Broaden education, training, and workforce development pathways
- Strengthen public-private and global partnerships
- Advance community engagement and climate resilience initiatives
- Support innovation and entrepreneurship
- Increase funding diversification and long-term sustainability
Members’ insights on visibility, partnerships, workforce development, and sustainability, along with their engagement with students and faculty, will help guide CREST as it continues to advance its mission locally and globally.
