In this award cycle, CESSRST-II  is charged with providing training and support for the integration of social science in Center fellows' research. This introduction is considered a resource for foundational knowledge about Social Science and its methods and how they are applied in NOAA-mission-aligned projects. This introduction contains a number of resources for your review, including one developed by NOAA. The others are a series of videos developed by various Subject Matter Experts affiliated with the Center, like Dr. Erin Friedman, who is the Center's Social Science Coordinator. You will have the opportunity to review the NOAA Social Science Basics Video as well as the videos from the CESSRST-II Social Science education series.  As part of your fellowship requirements, you will need to complete the Social Science Assessment, which covers content from both sets of resources, and attain a score of 80% or more. This will allow you to meet the fellowship requirement of having knowledge about how NOAA uses social sciences. You may review the content as many times as needed and retake the assessment until you obtain a passing score. However, you will need to pass the assessment by June 21, 2024PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU WILL BE A SPRING 2024 GRADUATE, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PASS THE ASSESSMENT BY MAY 30, 2024. Please keep these deadlines in mind.
