He has extensive experience in optics, electronics, photonics, and electromagnetic systems, with research that combines advanced theory and practical engineering applications.<\/p><p>He earned his M.S. in Optics and Electronics from Kyiv State University in 1987 and later received his Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics from the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 1994. His academic background established a strong foundation in optical engineering, electromagnetic wave theory, and advanced materials research.<\/p><p>At CCNY, Dr. Golovin teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, including electronics, electromagnetics, semiconductor devices, antennas and waveguides, optical fibers, electric circuits laboratories, and probability and statistics for engineers. His teaching approach emphasizes connecting theoretical concepts with real-world engineering applications.<\/p><p>Dr. Golovin\u2019s research interests include photonics, metamaterials, liquid crystal technologies, beam steering systems, antennas, imaging systems, and electromagnetic wave propagation. His work focuses on developing innovative technologies for communications, sensing, imaging, aerospace, and radar applications.<\/p><p>Throughout his career, he has contributed to research in hyperspectral imaging, terahertz metasurfaces, surface plasmon engineering, non-mechanical beam steering, and polarization control systems. His publications have appeared in leading scientific journals such as Optics Express, Applied Physics Letters, and Physical Review A.
